One import model in this category lists a wattage and an amperage that don’t reconcile with each other on the manufacturer’s own page, on a machine sold as a plain 110V countertop unit. That last row is worth sitting with. A 6000W load draws about 54.5 amps at 110V, but only about 27.3 amps at 220V, since amperage is inversely proportional to voltage at a fixed wattage. ALDKitchen’s own product page lists 54.5A for both options, which is not how electricity works. It reads like a spec sheet that was written for one voltage and never corrected for the other. Before ordering this unit at either voltage, get the actual amp draw in writing from the seller for the specific voltage you’re buying, not the number printed on the page.

The single-plate ALDKitchen model has its own version of the same problem: it’s sold as a 110V unit, but its own spec sheet lists 3kW, which comes out to 27.3 amps, well past what a standard household or light-commercial circuit supplies. The same product line also offers a 220V version at the same wattage, where the math works out to a sane 13.6 amps. If you’re drawn to this griddle, the 220V version is the one that makes electrical sense, assuming you have a dedicated line for it.

Dealer-tier commercial brands avoid this ambiguity by selling genuinely separate SKUs per voltage with matching factory plugs. Dealer listings for at least one French manufacturer describe a 120V single-plate model on a standard plug and a 240V double-plate model on a dedicated high-amp connector, not the same cord regardless of what voltage you order. That factory-matched approach, more than raw build quality, is the real reason to consider a dealer-tier brand if you’re planning serious multi-plate volume.

Single plate or double: throughput and what actually limits it

What actually moves the number in practice has less to do with brand and more to do with operating habits: preheat time (anywhere from 5 minutes to half an hour depending on the model), the operator’s practiced skill, active temperature monitoring during a shift, and, somewhat counterintuitively, smaller-diameter plates tend to cook a little faster than larger ones.
